Great chat. We like to think our club is unique but it’s difficult to think of another club that has so many fans who are dedicated writers, in their own time, who chronicle the history of their club. As an aside the final in 67 was going to be moved to Paris and it was only at the quarter final stage that Lisbon was confirmed. Had we drawn with Feyenoord (or SC Feijenoord as they were then, they changed their name in 1974) the replay would have been in Brussels. Quite how we underestimated the team that put out the holders AC Milan remains a mystery that will now never be resolved….
Thanks so much Martin. Yeah, Celtic have been outrageously blessed with the supreme talents among the support who have devoted lifetimes to chronicling the club. It was important to honour the doyen Pat Woods this week and few were better placed to do that than Matt, a smashing guest and terrific Celtic author.
Outstanding, lovely tribute to Pat and David, and nice comments about An Alphabet of the Celts a truly wonderful and timeless tome….
About to dig out Glory for about the 20th time….
Thanks for the kind reference, very humble….
Thanks so much Peter. You can never go wrong with a wee dip into The Glory And The Dream. Clear an hour! And you deserve any and all glowing mentions.
