It has been dizzying recently keeping track of the former Celtic players tipped to be on the move…not least those claimed to have been the subject of overtures to make them future performers in the club’s colours.

However, there is one individual who I have been keeping tabs on for years. As I have clung to a fervent hope in the midst of a concerning trend. Approaching every transfer window for the past two years, we have been confidently informed that burgeoning talent Jeremie Frimpong will be enticed from Bayer Leverkusen. For a fee many multiples of the £11.5m the Germans paid Celtic for him in January 2021.
