I was a fan of technology coming into football. I say I was a fan, I probably still am, but I am frustrated at how football has decided to implement technology.
I was a fan because I wanted to see the most glaring errors ended in football, and I had high hopes that football would review how technology have been implemented by other sports and therefore wouldn't start with a ground zero, but would take the learnings of other sports implementing technology, and start with fewer teething problems. I expected thet would watch the implementation of technology in sports like rugby, tennis, cricket and in all other sports, review the pros and cons, and hit the ground running. Unfortunately, football exceptionalism made it think that it was above this and we subsequently have teething problems and issues that should not be there.
