Ticket Prices, Tifos and Tina Turner - Celtic Da Weekly
A column awash with 80s pop references. Well, two of them anyway.
Hello, good evening and welcome to the Celtic Da Weekly – the Celtic fan column that’s been humming Tina Turner belters all week. Steamy Windows? Magic. Let’s Stay Together? Absolutely evergreen. Nutbush City Limits? Marvelous isn’t it? And I’m sure there are others that I just can’t recall right now.
Last year, Santa himself handed over the trophy; this time, I’m calling for a full-on Tina tribute act sashaying bow-legged down the touchline to the podium. No, not the one on the pitch – the entire match has been greeted with a communal “meh” that always follows a draw in the Glasgow derby. After a week or more of investing all your emotion into worrying about the outcome of the game; it almost feels like you’ve been cheated when you don’t get to revel in the elation of a victory or wallow in the despair of a defeat. A draw is a result that leaves us with a complete absence of emotion, and if we wanted that we’d follow a team in the English Premier League.
