St Anthony looks at why the big Dane makes in into your top half
When Kasper Schmeichel joined Celtic last summer there was much relief amongst the Celtic supporters as there was concern that the Celts would not be able to find a suitable replacement for the vastly experienced Joe Hart. As it was, the Danish international was an almost carbon copy of Joe in terms of experience at the highest level.
The early signs were good when he performed well against Chelsea and Manchester City on the North American summer tour. He carried forward that fine form into the season proper by keeping clean sheets for the first six games of the season with many claiming this was a Celtic record of shut outs at the start of a season, and was only beaten by a retaken taken penalty in the seventh league game against Ross County in Dingwall. This was an outstanding start to his Celtic career.
