My favourite line from ol’ Bill Shakespeare has always been ‘conscience makes cowards of us all’. But I kinda think that if the Bard were around today, and just happened to be a Tic fan, he would be moved to adapt said observation this week. Football forecasts make fools of us all, anyone?

My God but with that debacle in Dortmund, did our team not make prize pillocks both of themselves and the oodles of us stupid enough to believe this time it was going to be different…that they would do themselves, and the club, proud away to Borussia by really showing up…that a famous Celtic result was in the offing for a Brendan Rodgers side truly in their pomp. I suppose the ‘famous’ part survived. It just also had the suffix of ‘in’.
