Hello, good evening, and welcome. First things first: an apology. Last week I provided you with what many folks are already calling the greatest selection of rumours since Prince William took the washing out. However, I let you down. I let you down badly. In our excitement, we forgot to guarantee we’d sign the one player who has been pursued by Celtic for the past 12 months and is still our main target. And so we have to apologise. That’s right - I beg your pardon, I never promised you Mathias Kvistgaarden.

And if you are thinking that I deliberately left him out last week so I could make that terrible joke this week, then you’d be absolutely correct. I’ve spent the whole week worrying that someone else would crack it first, but I hadn’t considered the fact that nobody else has patter this bad. I need to get out more often.
