Celtic Da Weekly 09/08/24
The Celtic column for those fans who are starting to think M&S clothes aren't that bad actually.
Hello, good morning, and welcome to the Celtic Da Weekly. Are you someone who can handle it? Because I don't want to have to show you. If that’s not you, then let me know. Training season’s over (training season’s over). Yes, training season is indeed over, and it’s the first CDW of the new season. Which means, quite frankly, it’s about time we had some signings.
In 2014, Peter Lawwell told us, “There is no pile of cash sitting there that we could look at, watch, feel, and touch. It doesn't exist. I do not think we can be clearer than that.” Now, far be it from me to say unkind things about the chairman—we’ve seen how sensitive he can be of late—but questions have to be asked about what has changed in the past decade. Because right now, it feels like we have a back room in Celtic Park full of gold coins reserved for Dermot Desmond to do a Scrooge McDuck-like dive straight into them.
