It’s getting spicy now. We’ve worked through the keepers, the defenders, and the midfield maestros and now it’s time for the flair, the pace, the unpredictability. It’s time for the wingers.

Or… sort of.

Because, as you’ll see from the list, this group isn’t strictly made up of traditional chalk-on-the-boots, anonymous for chunks of the game wide men. Some of these players appeared in earlier categories (we see you Agathe and Sylla), while others were centre-forwards or attacking midfielders by trade but when you look at how Brendan Rodgers sets up in a 4-3-3, they start to make more and more sense as part of a front three.

So, if you thought picking your midfield 3 was hard wait until you think about the guy wide left and wide right and who will be through the middle. Yes, this is where the real selection dilemmas begin.
